BIOGRAPHY

Experimental pop band The Dead Science formed in late 2000 in Seattle, WA, with original members Sam Mickens (guitar/vocals), and brothers Jherek Bischoff (bass), and Korum Bischoff.(drums) They signed to CA-based Absolutely Kosher Records(home to The Wrens, Frog Eyes, etc.) in 2002 and released their first album, Submariner, in 2003. The EP Bird Bones in the Bughouse and their second album Frost Giant (recorded with Blonde Redhead/Black Heart Procession producer Ryan Hadlock) followed in 2004 and 2005, respectively.

In 2005 Korum was also replaced permanently by new drummer Nick Tamburro and the group began releasing a steady stream of 7”s on labels like Tomlab, Silencio, and Deathbombarc. In 2006 they released the more somber and experimental EP Crepuscule With The Dead Science on the Portland-based imprint Slender Means Society and, in late 2007, formed a new relationship with Montreal-based Constellation Records, (home to A Silver Mt. Zion, Do Make Say Think, etc.) who will be releasing their third and greatest record, Villainaire, in September of 2008.

The members of The Dead Science have been touring and recording members of Xiu Xiu, Parenthetical Girls, and jazz-punk orchestra Degenerate Art Ensemble, and have also contributed to recordings by Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Yellow Swans, and the Octopus Project. They have toured extensively in North America and Europe alongside friends The Blood Brothers, Celebration, Xiu Xiu, Carla Bozulich, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Craig Wedren, and many others.
