Satellite Soul Review: 7/7/07 @ the Hideout
On July 7 Satellite Booking presents a celebration of community and soul music at the Hideout in Chicago. For one night only, sixteen members of eight different Chicago indie bands come together to pay tribute to the dusty grooves of yesteryear. In the spirit of Motown, a house band will back up thirteen different singers, each of whom have selected their favorite soul number. Think of it as an evening of 45’s. Performers include Bobby Conn, Kevin Junior (Chamber Strings), Elanor Leskiw (Mucca Pazza), Abraham Levitan (Baby Teeth), Jim Cooper (Detholz!/Baby Teeth), Faye Davis-Jeffers (Pit er Pat), Chris Salveter (Low Skies/Judson Claiborne), Adam Busch (Manishevitz), Rob Doran (Pit er Pat), Monica Bou Bou (Bobby Conn band), and Jon Steinmeier (Detholz!). The house band for evening consists of Jon Steinmeier (Detholz!/Bobby Conn band), Abraham Levitan (Baby Teeth), Ryan Hembrey (Edith Frost/Manishevitz), Jeff Thomas (Mucca Pazza), Michael Saenz (Howling Hex), Monica Bou Bou (Bobby Conn band), and Mark Messing (Mucca Pazza). Join us on our four year anniversary! www.hideoutchicago.com
